Online Prayer Service

As Covid-19 remains to be a cause of deep concern, we are comforted by the knowledge that God is with us. During difficult times we often find ourselves subconsciously calling out to God. Living in some of the most anxious times of our lives, we here at St George’s have decided to make our prayers public.

Prayer is not the pretence of hope, a way of managing our disappointment with God. Rather, as one person said this week, her faith in God is restored because of answered prayer.

We invite you to join us for an online prayer service, where we pray for the economy, social issues, families, and the healthcare system that are impacted by Covid-19. The service follows a series of readings, prayers and time for reflection.

If you would like to follow or refer back to the readings, they are:

2 Corinthians 1: 3-11; Habbakkuk 3:17-19; Isaiah 62:1-12; John 16:16-24; 1 Thessalonians 3:6-11

May this also be an opportunity for you to say prayers of your own, interceding especially for those you know who are experiencing loss, pain, or fear.
